Benefits Of Meditating 21 Day Challenge- Day One

When you hear the word “meditation,” what do you think of?
Until recently, lots of people believed meditation was an archaic form of therapy, or a spiritual practice that was practiced only by followers of eastern religions.
But meditation has proven to be a valuable tool that can improve many aspects of life.
So why meditate? I'll tell you why I do and why you should too.
In all honestly meditating is a regular part of my daily life. I make sure t do it morning and night. It has changed my life on a more spiritual level. I notice I'm more in-tuned with what is gong on around me. I see the answers to so many of my questions. I feel happy and worry free. I've noticed more manifesting happening too.

Check out these benefits, and consider adding it to your daily routine!
There are loads of emotional, mental, and physical benefits associated with meditation.
Many people practice meditation and its various forms (like yoga) to calm stress, anxiety, and other symptoms associated with modern-day life, but physical benefits exist as well.
The entire body benefits from these stress-relieving and body-calming exercises, with research suggesting that it can reduce the likelihood of developing heart disease, depression, anxiety disorders, and hypertension, among others.
  • Be more productive-Steven Covey, author of the best selling book "7 habits of highly successful people", says that by not keeping your mind and body sharp, it's like trying to saw down a tree with a dull blade. It can be done, but it's very painful. Meditation sharpens the mind and a regular meditation practice will help you get more done more quickly than ever before. This isn't just a mental process. Meditation can help you change the physical structure of your brain, making it more efficient.
  • Eliminate Stress-We all undergo many stressful situations in our life. School work, jobs, dealing with people, and sitting in traffic are all some examples of things that cause stress in our lives. If we don’t deal with this stress properly, we begin to feel tension within our bodies.
Tension is not a good thing. Tension causes a lot of strain on our vital organs and on our brain. Many people who are stressed out all the time experience frequent headaches and migraines.
A good meditation practice can prevent all of this.
By meditating daily and in times of stress, you can clear your mind of all stressful thoughts and in turn, eliminate stressful emotions and feelings. Eliminating this stress can make our daily lives a lot easier and a lot more relaxing.

  • Balance- Life is all about balance.
Without balance, we form addictions and compulsions.
Addictions and compulsions can lead us down terrible paths in life that can have dire consequences. I have seen good friends lose their life to addictions.
Addiction is a disease, but can be treated.
Meditation is one way to incorporate balance in your life.
With a good meditation practice, you can focus your mind on things that will benefit your overall well-being. You will realize the things in your life that are harming your health, and you can work towards re-wiring your mind to throw out all these nasty addictions and compulsions.
With meditation, you will feel more open towards people and you will be inclined to help them out in their lives as well. You will create more opportunities to meet other people just like you who will help you on your journey through life.
  • Weight loss-A lot of us struggle with weight loss on a daily basis. Why not make it easier on yourself and your body by taking the proper action to increase your metabolism? With less stress, more energy and a mindful awareness of the breath, you're on the right road to weight loss. Stress interferes with the efficiency of your metabolism, plain and simple.

  • Happiness-At the end of the day, aren’t we all just trying to live a happier and more joyful existence? Meditation consists of a focused reflection of yourself and the thoughts in your head. It’s time spent giving thanks for what you do have, appreciating the little blessings around you and expressing a loving kindness for yourself and others. It makes you — and those around you — happier, and it helps you feel more connected to your loved ones, humanity and nature.
  • Be mindful and aware-You become more aware of what is going on around you.  After meditating, it’s easier to start your day with a purpose. You forget less and you think quicker.
  • Become Aware-You are more aware of what’s going on around you, which also means you make fewer mistakes. I used to constantly forget my wallet at home and I like to believe that this doesn’t really happen anymore now.

So many people get caught up on if they are doing it right. Or some are confused as to how long is beneficial. Start small. Try 5 minutes a day upon waking up. I challenge you to do more research and share what method you like best and how it is affecting your life differently.
