D.I.Y Citrus Soft Scrub

Image
Soft scrub works great, but it has tons of harsh chemicals that I’m not super excited about.  A couple of months ago, I stumbled onto a homemade soft scrub recipe, and although I’ve tweaked it a bit to suit my own tastes, it works AWESOME.  No, seriously, this stuff is amazing.  I clean my toilets and showers with it, and the best part is that there are literally NO harsh chemicals. What you need: An empty dish soap bottle 1 1/2 cups baking soda 1/2 cup castile liquid soap (I recommend lavender, tea tree, or orange scented soap) 2 tbsp. water 2 tbsp. vinegar {your mixture will start to bubble and foam when you add this ingredient due to the reaction with the baking soda} Put all the above ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Once blended transfer to a squeeze bottle and go clean something! Do you make your own cleaning products? What are your favorite essential oils? Thanks for reading.   Please refer to the DIY video at the bottom of the page   for step by step instructions on making laundry detergent powder. You will need:    1 C Washing soda    1 C Borax 1 C Baking Soda    1 Bar Castile Soap  Cheese Grater Bowl    Whisk    Ice Tray or any mold Essential Oil (Optional) Step-1 Pulverize the soap bar into a fine powder, this is important as it will dissolve better in any temperature of water. Chop up the soap bar and then run it through a food processor or use a cheese grater. Step 2- Add washing soda and borax. Run through the food processor as desired. The finer the powder, the easier it will dissolve in washes. Step 3-Add ¼ C Vinegar or more if needed. The soap should still look dry, the goal is to get it wet enough that it will pack into molds.
