The Benefits Of Consuming Apple Cider Vinegar
As
the calendar turns, most people are determined to lose weight and
make healthier choices in the new year. After all the Halloween candy
and holiday feasting this is an easy resolution to come to! That
leads us to our first challenge of 2016. If you are like me you
gained a few pounds during the holiday season. It's time to empl something new into my already healthy life style. For many years I've
been hearing about the benefits of ACV in water; sooooo I decideded
to go for it and drink it daily.
Today
begins our 21 day ACV challenge. You probably have a bottle of apple
cider vinegar in your pantry right now. It’s a tasty addition
to homemade pickles, marinades, and salad dressing, but is it also
good for you?
As
a folk remedy, apple cider vinegar has been credited with curing
everything from the flu to warts. Many of its supposed benefits
are unproven, but some experts think that adding a little of this
sour liquid to your life may have some health benefits.
After
much research I have learned there are a ton of uses for fermented
apples. I will highlight six.
Alkalize
Your Body-Alkine Acid Balance: Some alternative practitioners
recommend using apple cider vinegar to restore alkaline acid balance.
The theory behind the alkaline diet is that our blood is slightly
alkaline (with a normal pH level of between 7.35 and 7.45) and that
our diet should reflect this pH level. Proponents of the
alkaline-acid theory believe that a diet high in acid-producing foods
leads to lack of energy, excessive mucous production, infections,
anxiety, irritability, headache, sore throat, nasal and sinus
congestion, allergic reactions, and increased risk of conditions such
as arthritis and gout.

WeightLoss-Weight Loss. For thousands of years, vinegar has been used for weight loss. White vinegar (and perhaps other types) might help people feel full. A study (Ostman, E. European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2005) of 12 people found that those who ate a piece of bread along with small amounts of vinegar felt fuller and more satisfied than those who just ate the bread. A 2009 study on mice showed that consuming acetic acid (the active component in ACV), upregulates the expression of genes for fatty acid oxidation enzymes in the liver causing a suppression in body fat accumulation. In a double-blind experiment, obese Japanese were assigned to three different groups based on similar body weights, body mass indexes (BMI), and waist circumference. Each group drank a 500 ml drink containing either 30ml, 15ml, or 0ml of vinegar daily for 12 weeks. Those in the 30ml and 15ml groups had lower BMI, visceral fat area, waist circumference, serum triglyceride, and body weight to the control group of 0ml. The 12-week weight losses were modest: 1.2kg in the 15ml group and 1.7kg in the 30ml group. These two groups consumed a similar number of calories to the control group and also performed a similar amount of exercise, so the effect is not likely to have been due to an impact on appetite or other lifestyle changes. It was concluded that consumption of vinegar might reduce obesity.
Apple cider vinegar is chosen over white vinegar for many processes involving the elimination of fungus. Although they both have highly acidic properties; apple cider also contains detoxifying qualities that will even clear up other skin allergies.

Detox-One
of the main advantages of reaching an overall full body detoxify is
the impact it has on the aging process. A body detox is one
way to get rid of all the gunk that’s accumulated in your body, but
there are good ways and bad ways to do that. The entire body has an
incredible detoxing process from the bowels, liver, skin and kidneys.
Learning to utilize this process effectively will add years in your
lifestyle.

crucial minerals and vitamins can help assist your body during the
entire healing and rejuvenation procedure for the detox

Diabetes-Vinegar
is said to be anti-glycemic and has a beneficial effect on blood
sugar levels. It’s thought that the acetic acid in vinegar may
lower blood sugar by preventing the complete digestion of complex
carbohydrates, which is accomplished either by accelerating gastric
emptying or increasing the uptake of glucose by bodily tissues.
One
theory is that vinegar might inactivate some of the digestive enzymes
that break down carbohydrates into sugar, thus slowing the conversion
of complex carbohydrate into sugar from a meal into your bloodstream.
This
gives your body more time to pull sugar out of your blood, preventing
your sugar levels from spiking. One study found that vinegar
treatment improved insulin sensitivity in 19 percent of individuals
with type 2 diabetes and 34 percent of those with
pre-diabetes.
Yet
another study found taking two tablespoons of apple cider
vinegar before bed lowered blood sugar levels in people with type 2
diabetes by up to 6 percent by the morning.
Digestion/Acid
Reflux-Acid reflux typically results from having too
little acid in your stomach. You can easily improve the acid
content of your stomach by taking one tablespoon of raw unfiltered
apple cider vinegar in a large glass of water daily. The pectin in
apple cider vinegar may also help to soothe intestinal spasms.
Cancer
-The antioxidant content of vinegar may make it useful against
cancer, and a traditional Japanese rice vinegar called Kurosu has
shown particular promise for reducing cancer risk.6 Kurosu
vinegar has been found to inhibit the growth of a variety
of cancer cells, including colon, lung, breast, bladder,
and prostate. Kibizu, a sugar cane vinegar from Japan, has been shown
in cell studies to inhibit the growth of leukemia cells, while
consuming vinegar may even reduce the risk of esophageal cancer.
I could go on forever about the amazing benefits of drinking ACV in water but the truth is the best way to know is to put it to the test. Track your progress and please share.
