BE Inspired to D.I.Y. Leave In Conditioner.

Hair conditioners are designed to add strength, smooth damaged follicles and retain the natural moisture levels in hair. Many conditioning products on the market, however, contain chemicals, synthetic ingredients, and silicone that can actually damage or build up in hair and ultimately dull and weigh it down. Leave-in conditioner is used to soften hair, protect against styling instruments, reduce frizz and detangle. It differs from regular conditioner because it is used in smaller amounts and is not rinsed away.
My niece is obsessed with her hair. She's constantly is in the mirror , with her fingers, or a comb in her hair. She says to me that she want's it to grow. My reply to her is to leave it alone and wear it curly (the wet look) for awhile. She then insisted that I make her a leave in conditioner. I know Finding the perfect leave-in conditioner can be difficult for a natural curly. There are so many different products lines that claim to offer moisture and shine! Before you jump on the next product-craze bandwagon, why not try making your own leave-in conditioner?
Bellow are a few options for you to try:
Extra Moisturizing
Ingredients
  • 1 cup of your favorite all natural/organic conditioner
  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp shea butter (raw)
  • ½ tbsp of each of the following: grape seed, avocado, & olive oils
  • 5-10 large drops of honey
  • 10-15 drops of tea tree oil
Combine all ingredients in a container or jar and shake well.
The next recipe you only need THREE ingredients!
Aloe Vera Gel Leave-in Conditioner
4oz water
4oz aloe vera gel
10 drops of essential oil (pick your favorite!)
Directions: Add water and aloe vera gel to a small bowl and stir lightly with a spoon. Pour the contents into a spray bottle and shake. Add an essential oil of your choice and shake lightly again. Use daily or as often as needed to restore softness.
Softening Conditioner
Add your favorite organic or all-natural conditioner into a clean spray bottle with distilled water. The ratio should be approximately 1 part conditioner to 3 parts water but you can adjust it to your preference.
